Some steps in a Magic run failed

What the step count on the result screen means, what a partial run is charged, retrying the failed steps, and running again.

What the result screen shows

The result heading counts the steps, for example 3 of 5 steps finished. Under it, each failed step is listed with its number, its agent and the reason it failed. The steps that completed are shown below, with their files.

What it costs

When some steps of a Magic run fail, only the completed steps are charged.

Retry the failed steps

Retry the failed steps runs the failed steps and anything after them. The note under the button says Only the failed steps and anything after them run again. Completed steps are kept and are not charged twice.

Retrying the failed steps of a Magic run does not charge the completed steps again.

When to run again instead

Run again plans the same request again from the start, in the same mode. Use it when retrying is not offered, or when you want a new plan rather than the same steps again. To ask for something different, start a new request on the Magic page.

If the retry is refused for credits

If the workspace does not have enough credits for the retry, it does not start. The screen shows Run failed with the reason above the result, and completed steps are kept. Add credits on the Billing page, then come back to Magic, open the run from Past runs and press Retry the failed steps again.
